7 REASONS YOU SHOULD NEVER SHAVE YOUR PUBIC HAIR

More and more studies are pointing to an increase in benefits in not shaving your pubic hair, even though that goes against the popular norm because, shaving of the pubic hair to so many people, is nothing new. The most common body areas shaved are the underarms, legs, pubic area, the face, abdomen, back, chest, groin, and legs for males. While some people prefer waxing, shaving is the most common method used for the underarms, legs, and pubic area.
Pubic shaving originated in ancient Greece and Egypt when prostitutes had to shave for both hygienic reasons and as a sign of their profession. Although female body shaving was established as the norm between 1915 and 1945, pubic hair removal did not actually gain a strong foothold until the 1980’s. Sociological theories have suggested that shaving of the pubic hair has to do with cultural trends spawned by certain hairless actors and actresses or a misguided attempt at hygiene.
Despite the fact that 96% of women and 87% of men have partially or completely removed their pubes in the last month and apparently there is a visual advantage to shaving, the body is designed to have hair down there. Here’s why it might not be a great idea to shave your pubic hair.

1. Higher Risk For Genital Warts
Genital warts are located near or on the genital areas. In a female, it is situated on or outside genital, vaginal, cervix, or anus. In a male, it is near or on the penis, scrotum, or anus. Although pubic hair doesn’t completely prevent it, it helps avoid skin on skin contact with someone who may already have it. These warts appear as bumps or growths. They can be flat or raised, single or many, small or large and tend to be whitish or flesh colored. They are not always easy to see with the naked eye, and many times a person with genital warts doesn’t know that he or she has it.

2. Pubic Hair Could Make You Feel Sexier
Scientists believe that pubic hair retains sexual secretions that are otherwise referred to as pheromones. This is what attracts us to each other, signalling fertility and making you appear more attractive. The body gives off more pheromones as you sweat and those secretions are retained in the pubic hair regions.

3. Pubic hair Helps Control Your Body Temperature
Hair follicles help with sweating. The sebaceous gland on each hair follecule which releases oils onto the hair allows the oils to go up to the skins surface. When this oil evaporates it cools the skin because of its latent heat.

4. Pubic Hair Protects You From Skin Problems In Your Private Area
Removing your pubic hair  naturally irritates and inflames the hair follicles, leaving microscopic open wounds. Frequent hair removal is necessary to stay smooth, causing regular irritation of the shaved or waxed area. Many doctors say it is not unusual to find patients with boils and abscesses on their private parts from shaving as well as cellulitis, an infection of the scrotum. When they are private parts, these skin issues are often more uncomfortable than they would be on other parts of the body.
Pubic hair also helps you to prevent foreign particles like dust and pathogenic bacteria from entering your body, which causes irritation.

5. It Could Be Connected To STDs And Viral Infection
It’s been theorised that the pubic hair removal trend correlates with an increase in gonorrhea, chlamydia, and HPV.
Research has shown that hairless private parts may provide an opportunity for sexually transmitted diseases like Molluscum contagiosum to take hold,  Molluscum  is spread easily, and the researchers suggested the virus may have spread primarily through self-infection caused by scratching skin irritated by shaving.

6. Pubic Hair Provides A Natural Lubrication
Pubic hair  protect against body friction. Rubbing of skin can irritate and hair helps to decrease this problem. It helps to protect your sensitive areas from redness caused by the skin rubbing. This could also provide a protection of possible irritation during intercourse.

7. You Could Be Risking Injury
Yes, most genital injuries reported in the emergency rooms are a direct consequence of pubic hair removal.
